Spec AI Copyright Policy
Effective: August 26, 2026
Spec AI respects intellectual-property rights. This policy explains how to report material available through the Spec AI Service that you believe infringes copyright and how an affected user may respond.
This is also the route for product-source objections involving descriptions, photographs, drawings, or other protected expression. Product-fact corrections, trademark complaints, privacy concerns, or access objections may instead be sent to catalog@spec-ai.co or legal@spec-ai.co.
1. Copyright complaint
Send a written complaint to copyright@spec-ai.co containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature, or the signature of a person authorized to act for the copyright owner.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed. A representative list may be used for multiple works at one online location.
- Identification of the disputed material and information reasonably sufficient for us to locate it, including the exact Spec AI URL, project or share URL, product record, source URL, and screenshots where available.
- Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the complaint is accurate and you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner.
Spec AI does not represent that this email address is a registered U.S. Copyright Office DMCA agent. A formal DMCA designation, if adopted, will be published only after registration is complete.
2. Our response
We may forward a complaint, including the claimant's contact information, to the customer or user responsible for the material. We may remove or disable access while reviewing the claim, preserve relevant records, notify a source or rights holder, or take other action required by law. Incomplete or inaccurate complaints may delay review. Restricting material is not a determination that infringement occurred.
3. Response by an affected user
If material was removed or disabled because of a mistake or misidentification, the affected user may send copyright@spec-ai.co a signed response identifying the removed material and its prior location, explaining the basis for restoration, and providing the user's name and contact information. If a statutory counter-notice procedure applies, Spec AI may request the additional statements, jurisdictional consent, or service information required by law before considering restoration.
4. Repeat infringement and misuse
In appropriate circumstances, Spec AI may suspend or terminate users who repeatedly infringe copyright and may restrict sources or content associated with repeated valid complaints. Spec AI may also reject materially false or abusive complaints and take action permitted by law.
5. Catalog source and correction requests
Manufacturers, distributors, marketplaces, and rights holders may request correction of attribution, specifications, images, availability, or provenance by emailing catalog@spec-ai.co. Include proof of authority, the exact record or URL, the requested correction, and supporting current documentation. Spec AI may mark data disputed, remove protected expression, link to an authoritative source, or suspend a source while evaluating the request.
